Government decision to wear masks, leave it to individual judgment from March 13

On the 10th, the government compiled a new guideline that entrusts the wearing of masks to combat the new coronavirus to individual judgment. It will be applied from March 13th, except for schools that started from April 1st.

While the guidelines do not require masks on Shinkansen and highway buses where everyone can sit, they are still recommended to be worn on crowded commuter trains and buses, and are also recommended when visiting medical institutions and facilities for the elderly.
