Japan's heat wave continues
Dangerously hot weather continued throughout Japan, with the number of locations recording a heat wave of 35 degrees Celsius or higher exceeding 100 for the fourth consecutive day.
In Asakusa, Tokyo, tourists seek to cool off by putting up parasols and bathing in mist. The peak of the heat is expected to last until around the 9th, and vigilance against heat stroke is necessary.
Last July was also very hot, with Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, and Fuchu City, Tokyo, recording the highest temperatures ever recorded. Kuwana City in Mie Prefecture and Bungo-Ono City in Oita Prefecture also experienced intense heat.
