On April 18, the summit's secretariat announced online that Mr. Zelensky would attend the meeting on April 21. As Russia, which has invaded Ukraine, continues to threaten to use nuclear weapons, Mr. Zelensky's visit to Hiroshima, the site of the atomic bombing, and his attendance at the summit would provide a symbolic opportunity to strongly discourage Russia and show the solidarity of the international community.
