Zao Onsen, one of Japan's most famous hot springs, and its winter attractions
Zao Onsen has an abundance of hot water and is characterized by its strongly acidic sulfur spring water.
There are three public bathhouses available for 200 yen. In winter, visitors can enjoy the fantastic tree ice lighting during the “Zao Juhyō Festival.
The specialty “igamochi” is also popular, and purchase in the morning is recommended.
